A professional musician, songwriter, and businesswoman, Bethany’s life is a non-stop juggling act. When not on tour she hikes, does yoga, and maintains her blissful state with vapes and tinctures.
MedMen: How do you break the Stoner stereotype?
Bethany Cosentino: I write music, play guitar, sing, and run a business. I’m constantly busy and on-the-go and seldom have any down time.
MM: What role does marijuana play in your life?
BC: It relieves stress and helps with the aches and pains from performing. Also, it helps me sleep. I don’t take pharmaceuticals any more.
MM: What convinced you try it?
BC: I was living in New York. It was a totally stressful time and smoking really helped with anxiety.
MM: Preferred pursuits?
BC: I like to get high and go to the movies, or go hiking in a secret spot in the Angeles Crest forest.
MM: Smoke or vape?
BC: I like vapes, tinctures, and edibles. I don’t smoke flowers that much as it can mess with my voice. And there are so many more options now.
MM: Greatest achievement when high?
BC: I’ve written songs that have ended up being included on albums.
MM: Favorite MedMen products?
BC: The Dosist vaporizer and Whoopi Goldberg tincture for cramps.
MM: Marijuana motto?
BC: Marijuana shouldn’t be frowned upon. I think it’s pretty incredible that one plant can do so much.
